Salcombe
Players
The Salcombe Players are a lively, outgoing group, formed in 1954 and now boasting a strong membership. We consider ourselves to be one of the friendliest am dram groups around, with a reputation for good camaraderie, loyalty and fun.
We welcome new members of all ages and abilities, in any capacity, whether on stage or backstage (scenery, construction, costumes, front of house, etc).
Our members hail from all areas surrounding Salcombe and we’re very much part of our local community – our audiences are wonderfully loyal and appreciative.
We generally stage up to three productions a year, with subjects including comedy, drama and thrillers, as well as pantos, reviews and old time music hall. A very social group, we also hold two or three parties or dinners a year, as well as play-readings, in addition to the rehearsals and productions, so there generally seems to be something ‘on the go’.
We are lucky enough to perform at Cliff House, which provides an amazing facility for the town, in its glorious situation overlooking the harbour.
The Society is run by an enthusiastic committee, elected each year at our Annual General Meeting. Fancy joining us? You’d be most welcome!
